Meet Our Team

You'll see the same familiar, friendly faces when you come to see us at Caryn Vet Hospital - Dr Peter Kirkpatrick and Nurses Leah, Mel and Chelsea love to say hi to clients and their fluffy patients. Pop in to say hi and meet them today!

Veterinarian (Bachelor of Veterinary Science, Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine, Bachelor of Biological Science (First Class Honors), Young Australian of Year 2002 - Winner)

Dr Peter Kirkpatrick is thrilled to be serving Edgewater, Heathridge and surrounding suburbs in providing top notch veterinary services to cats, dogs, birds and wildlife alike.

Dr Peter graduated from Murdoch University over 17 years ago and has worked in Western Australia, Victoria and Tasmania with both small and large animals. He has especially loved his work starting My Pet's Mobile Vet, making house calls to people in Tasmania, Geraldton and Perth suburbs - another service he is looking forward to offering the local community.

He has an exciting past, winning the Young Australian of the Year award in 2002 for WA, and also contributes to the Gardening Australia Magazine Pet Column.

Dr Pete has a special interest in orthopaedics, stem cell therapy, complex surgeries and animal medicine - basically everything to do with your furry family member!

He and his wife Elise have recently welcomed their first little lady, Madeline, into their lives, and she is keeping their fur-child Gypsy on her toes! (PS - he loves showing clients cute photos!)

In his 'spare' time, Dr Pete loves getting away down South, riding his motorbike, reading and going for walks with his little family.

Veterinary Nurse (Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing)

Leah is the warm and bubbly voice you'll hear on the phone, and her love of animals and people will greet you when you come to the clinic!

Leah's skills in managing cases and surgery means your pets are in the very best hands when it comes to their care in hospital (not to mention all the snuggles she gives!)

Originally hailing from Buckinghamshire in the UK, Leah and her family enjoy camping and taking advantage of our gorgeous WA weather and countryside.

Veterinary Nurse (Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing)

Mel is one of our wonderful Nurse's who has the privilege of looking after your pets at Caryn Vet Hospital!

Originally from Manchester in the UK, Mel absolutley loves all things to do with surgery and looking after her beloved patients. She is also a big fan of greeting and getting to know every animal who walks in the door at Caryn Vet Hospital!

Mel enjoys Dungeon's & Dragon's and board games in general (a self-proclaimed geek in Mel's words!) in her spare time, as well as keeping fit with boxing.

Veterinary Nurse (Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing)

Chelsea's love of animals has meant she has found her passion in Vet Nursing for the past 8 years! Growing up in WA's Southwest, Chelsea has a keen interest in dental care for her patients, and laboratory testing, coupled with all the cuddles she loves giving to patients!

Outside her career, her fur-child Jenson keeps her on her toes when she's not racing Go-karts and side cars in the motorsport world.

Veterinary Nurse (Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing)

Keisha is a new face you will see around the clinic! Keisha joins us from a background in emergency vet nursing and exotic nursing - her bubbly and happy disposition come across to clients and patients alike!

Trainee Nurse

Emina already has a special place in her heart for animals, who have been her passion evern before applying to begin her Vet Nursing course.

She joins us each Friday to gain more experience in pet care and surgery!
